Jon was born and raised in Gallatin, Tennessee and spent his first two years of college at Volunteer State Community College and then moved to Murfreesboro to finish college at Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Business Entrepreneurship with a minor in Business Administration. During his first year at Middle Tennessee State University, Jon joined Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department (September 2005). Since joining Rutherford Volunteer Fire Department he has earned the following degrees or certificates: Basic Firefighting (64hr)
Live Firefighting (22hr) Firefighter Survival (15hr) Extrication (TFACA)(15hr) Extrication (TARS)(22.5hr) Smoke Divers (30hr) Strategy and Tactics for the Initial Company Operations (15hr) Arson Detection for the first responder (15hr) State of Tennessee Firefighter I Hazardous Material Awareness level (16hr) Hazardous Material Operation level (16hr) State of Tennessee and National Registry Medical First Responder (60hr) FEMA- Incident Command System (ICS) 100 (3hr) 200 (3hr) 300 (16hr) 700 (3hr) 800b (3hr) FEMA- Radiological Emergency Management (IS-3) (10hr) Middle Tennessee State University- Bachelor of Business Administration Jon has been promoted to Driver (2007), Lead Fire Fighter (12/2007), and Lieutenant (12/2008). He is also in charge of all bunker gear and station keys. Jon has decided to further his career by becoming a professional firefighter from the City of Murfreesboro, TN (May 2008).
